Priv.-Doz. Dr. Bernhard Steger
Specialist for Ophthalmology and Optometry

Priv-Doz. Dr. Bernhard Steger completed both the study of human medicine and the specialist training for ophthalmology and optometry at the Medical University of Innsbruck. From 2014 to 2015, he completed a 1-year special surgical training at the University of Liverpool (UK). Since then, he has been working as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Medical University of Innsbruck, where he obtained his teaching license in ophthalmology in 2017 through his habilitation. He is distinguished by his expertise in a broad operational spectrum of ophthalmology with special emphasis in cataract surgery (cataract) and the surgical treatment of diseases of the cornea, the eyelids and the ocular surface.


Dr. Barbara Parolini
Specialist in ophthalmology

Dr. Barbara Parolini studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Verona, where she also successfully completed her specialist medical training in the Faculty of Ophthalmology. Both were achieved with the highest marks possible and awarded the grade summa cum laude. Since then she has gained experience, not only in Italy, but also in the United States. In the US she specialised at the UCSF in San Francisco and at the UMDNJ in Newark in the field of transplantation of the retinal pigment epithelium.
Dr. Parolini practices as a vitreoretinal surgeon and is mainly based in Brescia in the Eyecare Clinic. She focuses on retinal surgery, cataract surgery and refractive surgery.
She is considered to be a worldwide authority and opinion leader in this field. Her experience transcends routine cases in the field of retina and vitreous diseases and also includes complex subretinal surgery cases and pronounced myopia, as well as the reconstruction of the eye post-trauma. In addition, she has published numerous papers in books and regularly delivers lectures on the international stage.


Dr. med. univ. Dagmar Pedri
Ophthalmology Specialist

Dr. med. univ. Dagmar Pedri studied at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Freiburg. In 2001 she completed her doctorate at Innsbruck University Hospital, being awarded the title of Dr. med. univ. She completed her residency at the Franz Tappeiner public hospital in Merano and at the LMU University Hospital in Munich, where she became an attending physician in 2007. Since then she has worked as a specialist in the ophthalmology department in the Franz Tappeiner public hospital in Merano.
Over the years, Dr. med. univ. Pedri has taken part in various specialist international ophthalmology conferences, such as at the Nordic Congress of Ophthalmology in Iceland. At these conferences, Dr. med. univ. Dagmar Pedri has continued her education in cataract and glaucoma surgery as well as retina surgery, taken part in dermatological / plastic training and regularly done internships at the Herzog Carl Theodor Eye Clinic in Munich. Dr. med. univ. Dagmar Pedri regularly participates in continuing training in order to be able to offer her patients the best possible treatment.
