Dr. Werner Rauhe received his doctorate summa cum laude in medicine from the University of Milan in 1980, receiving the highest grades. He specialized in cardiology at the same university in 1982.
In the years that followed, he attended numerous training courses in Italy (Centro Cardiologico Monzino Milan, Dipartimento Cardiovascolare De Gasperis Ospedale Niguarda Milan) and abroad (Westfälische Wilhelms Universität Münster, Herzzentrum Leipzig).
From 1986 to 1997, Dr. Rauhe worked in the Department of Cardiology at Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Milan,. There he initially worked as an assistant physician, subsequently being promoted to the position of senior physician in charge of arrhythmology, electrophysiology and cardiac stimulation.
From 1997 to September 2022, he worked in the cardiology department with intensive care unit at Bolzano Hospital. Working there as a leading senior physician from 2004 in the "cardiological intensive care unit and bed ward" unit, he was responsible for clinical and interventional arrhythmology.
In this area, he has performed thousands of interventions himself, such as pacemaker and ICD implantations, invasive electrophysiological examinations, and ablation of complex cardiac arrhythmias.
He has published numerous articles in books and journals, and participated in multiple international scientific studies.
